If you were hoping that the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut DLC would reveal that, yes<\/em>, Commander Shepard really was a secret Reaper agent and actually a giant robot in a clever man-disguise – and all your friends would stop making fun of you and respect<\/em> you like you deserve<\/em> – it’s not going to happen. It’s not going to happen yet, anyway.<\/p>\n

“To be clear, the Extended Cut is not a re-imagining of the ending or a new ending. We’re currently building it right now, our cinematics team is on it. Our writers are heavily involved. It’s coming together,” BioWare producer, Mike Gamble told attendees at a PAX panel over the weekend.<\/p>\n

“It’s more than just a few cinematic scenes,” he explained. “We’re happy to be doing it… We want to give more closure about some of the questions you have, and in general we wanted to give the players a sense of personalization with the endings.”<\/p>\n

“Many people mentioned that some of the choices they made in the game are not necessarily reflected in the ending scenes. We’re definitely going to focus on things like that. We want to make sure that when you see the ending of Mass Effect, you now have the information and context to be satisfied.”<\/p>\n

Commander Shepard-Reaper’s time will come.<\/p>\n
