While some may seem this list as slightly premature, it\u2019s pretty safe to say that the Wii is heading into its twilight stage ahead of the Wii U\u2019s launch, rumoured<\/a> for later this year.<\/p>\n

With Nintendo\u2019s focus shifting towards its forthcoming successor; it\u2019s only fair to give the little white console its deserved praise; and that\u2019s not to say you should stick it in your cupboard, but just take a moment to look back at some of the best games the Wii delivered.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s no surprise that a genuinely good 3D Mario platformer would go down well with Wii owners, as Super Mario Galaxy wasn\u2019t just a great modern game, but it was a pure love-letter to all Nintendo fans.<\/p>\n

The game features full 3D environments, gravitational elements of gameplay and some of the most gorgeous visuals you\u2019ll see on Nintendo\u2019s little console.<\/p>\n

Super Mario Galaxy was seen as the spiritual successor to Mario 64, one of the highest-rated games of all time, but without getting cold-feet, it showed up and exceeded expectations by pushing the bar higher than anyone imagined.<\/p>\n
