Electronic Arts<\/a> have loosened up the restrictions over banned players on their Origin<\/a> online game distribution service.<\/p>\n

Their policy has been restructured, allowing players who have previously received a banning to access their purchased games and play offline.<\/p>\n

Previously, players who had the proverbial Origin door shut in their face would not be able to access any of the games they had purchased off the service, including single-player games.<\/p>\n

EA have been reflecting on their much talked-about policy, which has caused controversy since the service’s inception.<\/p>\n

“For PC games you will need to enable Origin’s offline mode to play games with a disabled account. Go to the settings tab in Origin (the gear icon) and select Go Offline.”<\/p>\n

EA notes that “the majority of banned or suspended accounts are only suspended temporarily,” and that you can appeal any applied ban via the instructions here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
