Fallout developer\/publisher Bethesda<\/a> were not so happy when they saw a Fallout-themed website that they didn’t own – legal action ensued.<\/p>\n

Late last year, Erling Anderson’s love for Fallout led him to set up a website which showcased custom-made Fallout posters, although Bethesda were quick to pick up on this and asked for Anderson to pull down the site and hand over the domain.<\/p>\n

Anderson said it took merely a week before Bethesda lawyers contacted him and sent a lengthy legal document.<\/p>\n

“Now, I\u2019m not out looking for trouble. I set up the website out of pure ‘fandom’, and the last thing I wanted \u2013 or expected<\/em> \u2013 was to be threatened with a lawsuit by Bethesda. What pisses me off isn\u2019t the fact that they\u2019re looking out for their trademark \u2013 as they have every right to do so. What I\u2019m pissed about are large companies abusing their monetary power, hiring global law firms to go after a fan<\/em> online, immediately threatening with a lawsuit”, Anderson said.<\/p>\n

Anderson used his own legal savvy and responded in regards to Bethesda wrongfully detailing his actions as an “infringement”. Anderson has heard no response as of yet from Betheda’s lawyers.<\/p>\n
