Various gaming sites have been buzzing with rumors regarding the forthcoming Bioshock 2. Until now, we have resisted the urge to publish any of the information, as non of it seemed credible.<\/p>\n
This time however, the information comes straight from Game Informer Magazine, a reliable industry resource.<\/p>\n
The most shocking revelation is that players will step into the shoes of the first ever Big Daddy. They will be able to rescue Little Sisters from other Big Daddies and choose to either adopt them or harvest them. Like the original, players will be able to upgrade their weaponry and make use of plasmids.<\/p>\n
Other details have also emerged on the NeoGAF forums. These details apparently came from the same source, but could not be confirmed for definite.<\/p>\n
UPDATE:<\/strong> These points have since been confirmed as true the games creative director Jordan Thomas.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n – The game takes place 10 years after the original. (but players play as the first Big Daddy? Must be getting on a bit…)<\/p>\n – There will be multiplayer.<\/p>\n – There will be a Big Sister, and she will be the toughest enemy in the game.<\/p>\n – Upgrade trees have been made more diverse.<\/p>\n – As the Big Daddy, players will be able to make use of the shoulder barge move seen in the original. The Big Daddy’s drill will also over heat if used constantly.<\/p>\n – Some levels will take place outside Rapture on the ocean floor.<\/p>\n The article also squashes rumors that the game will be exclusive to a particular console, announcing that it will be available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
