{"id":3677,"date":"2009-03-19T12:06:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-19T10:06:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-29T22:00:00","slug":"first-hd-4890-benchmarks-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/3677-first-hd-4890-benchmarks-released","title":{"rendered":"First HD 4890 benchmarks released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Enthusiast hardware and overclocking website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocheaven.com\/news_view.asp?gid=6754\" target=\"_blank\">ocheaven<\/a> has revealed their performance findings on ATi&rsquo;s upcoming HD 4890 graphics card.<\/p>\n<p>They have also revealed some of the more technical specifications of the card.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, ocheaven is unable to reveal any real world performance figures because of various confidentiality agreements.<\/p>\n<p>Ocheaven ran the latest version of GPU-Z 0.3.2. The official specifications of the HD 4890 they tested are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>GPU Codename: RV790<\/p>\n<p>Fabrication process: 55nm<\/p>\n<p>Transistor count: 965 million<\/p>\n<p>GPU Clock Speed: 850MHz<\/p>\n<p>Memory Interface: 256-bit<\/p>\n<p>Onboard memory: 1GB GDDR5 @3800MHz<\/p>\n<p>In 3DMark06, the HD 4890 comes very close to Nvidia&rsquo;s Geforce GTX 285. The GTX 285 still holds clear advantage in 3DMark Vantage thanks to PhysX.<\/p>\n<p>The test system consisted of an Intel Core i7 920 CPU running at 2.67GHz and 3GB of unspecified ram.<\/p>\n<p>The card managed a 3DMark 06 score of 16096 and a 3Dmark&nbsp; Vantage score of P10996.<\/p>\n<p>Of course these synthetic tests are not an indicator of the actual real world gamming performance that the card will deliver.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately we will have to wait for in game benchmarks.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php?t=722\"
