Eugen was the developer behind the real-time strategy title Act of War: Direct Action, which in our opinion was a bit of a stinker despite receiving quite good reviews from most publications. At any rate, we are all for second chances, and by the sound of things, R.U.S.E may actually bring something interesting to the table.<\/p>\n
Apparently the game will rely heavily on cunning tactics, such as deception, misdirection and bluffing, as opposed to the conventional “tank-rush” gameplay mechanic that is present in so many RTS titles. It will run on the IRISZOOM engine, and will apparently allow players to zoom out to space, as well as view the action from up close. An interesting feature indeed, yet whether there will be any real practical benefit to such a feature remains to be seen.<\/p>\n
The game will be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, and the PC version is said to be optimized for Intel’s i7, which can’t be hard seeing as how the CPU is an absolute monster.<\/p>\n
Call us easy, but the term “one of a kind real time strategy game” used in the promotional material was enough to get our attention. This coupled with the promises of allowing players to make use of cunning battlefield tactics has us eager to find out more about this one.<\/p>\n
While it is true that Eugen did not exactly set the world on fire with Act of War, it did have its fans, and by the looks of things R.U.S.E may just be worth a look.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
