As the annual E3 Expo<\/a> creeps closer and closer, game company heads are getting poked and prodded into telling the community what they may be showing off at this year’s show.<\/p>\n

One game everyone wants is Half-Life 3, and as gamers impatiently wait year-in and year-out for the announcement, it looks as if Valve are not going to please fans just yet.<\/p>\n

An e-mail sent by Gabe Newell<\/a> to fan site Valve<\/a> Time set the record straight on the company’s E3 plans.<\/p>\n

“We are not announcing anything at E3. Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff everyone already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10′ UI, …)”<\/p>\n

So it appears that no Portal, Left 4 Dead or elusive Half-Life instalments will be revealed this year.<\/p>\n

Could this be Valve trying to avoid disappointed fans on the show floor? Or could this be a diversion to calm down the hype? Let us know what you think.<\/p>\n
