Following the leaked magazine images which revealed that a Company of Heroes sequel<\/a> was in existence, THQ<\/a> have come out and officially announced Company of Heroes 2 for early 2013.<\/p>\n

“Company of Heroes 2<\/em> is a true successor, introducing a new front, new protagonists and new technology,” said Greg Wilson<\/a>, producer at Relic<\/a>. “While retaining the unique mix of strategic gameplay and competitive multiplayer that made the original Company of Heroes<\/em> such a success.”<\/p>\n

The sequel will feature a new campaign following the battles across the Eastern Front of Europe in World War II, a new Essence 3.0 Engine, and a ‘True Sight’ game mechanic, in which players will only be able to see what their controlled soldiers see, leaving what may be behind the next building or treeline unknown.<\/p>\n

Company of Heroes 2 will follow up from the critically-acclaimed 2006 strategy game, which garnered a huge cult following from its release.<\/p>\n

The game won’t make a showing at E3<\/a>, but expect some more information regarding the sequel within the coming months.<\/p>\n
