The third game in the Red Faction franchise has officially been given a release date. The first Red Faction was released for the Playstation 2 and PC in 2001. Developed by Volition, the game was set on Mars sometime in the 22nd century.<\/p>\n
The premier feature of the game was the ability to drastically alter terrain using the “Geo-Mod” technology.<\/p>\n
The first sequel was released a year later, and now players can expect Red Faction: Guerilla to land on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on June 9. <\/strong><\/p>\n Other interesting tidbits have revealed that the third in the series will differ from its predecessors in that it will not follow a straight forward linear structure, but will put players in an open world, much like games such Fallout 3 and Mass Effect etc.<\/p>\n It has also been revealed that unlike its predecessors, Guerilla will be third-person action game as opposed to making use of the traditional first-person view point.<\/p>\n A demo for the game is currently scheduled to go live on PSN and Xbox Live on April 23.<\/p>\n
