Empire: Total War managed to sell very well in March as expected. The epic scale strategy title from Creative Assembly did not have much to compete with in the way of AAA PC releases, proving that timing is important. Dawn of War II manages to hang in there, with chart stalwarts The Sims 2 and World of Warcraft making up for half of the top ten in retail sales.<\/p>\n
The STEAM sales are looking a little bit out of sync with current releases, but this can be put down to the fantastic sales the e-tailer has been running on the likes of Assassin’s Creed, Unreal Tournament III Black and the Oddworld Pack.<\/p>\n
Direct2Drive ran a sale on Defense Grid: The Awakening, escalating it to the number one spot for the month.<\/p>\n
As far as digital download sales go, March will largely be remembered as the month of the sale, with many AAA games such as FarCry 2, Prince of Persia and Unreal Tournament III having their prices slashed.<\/p>\n
