In February, Valve announced that they would be releasing a scout centric  update<\/a> for their popular multiplayer only first person shooter, Team Fortress 2.<\/p>\n

The update brought a number of interesting new features to the Scout class, including new achievements<\/a>, and the Sandyman<\/a> , a new weapon, allowing the scout to hit baseballs at his enemies.<\/p>\n

Valve has just announced that they are working on a new update, and this time they are focusing on bringing new content to the Sniper class, and it won’t involve jugs of urine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The next class pack will focus on the Sniper. It’s actually shaping up to be the largest TF2 update yet, with multiple new maps and a bunch of gameplay tweaks”  – A post published on the official Team Fortress 2 website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The post also reveals that a general update will be released before the Sniper update that will bring new content to all classes.<\/p>\n

The post then goes on to explain why Xbox 360 users have not received any of the additional free content that PC owners have enjoyed.<\/p>\n

“The XBox 360 update is still being worked on. If you’re wondering what’s taking so long, since the content is “done” on the PC already, it’s mostly been around fitting it all onto the XBox. The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the XBox’s memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we’ve produced has pushed well beyond it. We’ve found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it’s turned out to be a lot of work, and that’s what most of our time is being spent on.”<\/p>\n

It is unlikely that owners of the PS3 port of the game will ever receive additional TF2 content, as Valve do not have any in-house PS3 programmers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
