As PC<\/a> gamers huff into brown paper bags with barely contained excitement now that Diablo III<\/a> has launched, console gamers have been left sobbing and wailing and beating their breasts with grief as there’s no news of a console version anywhere to be heard.<\/p>\n

Until now.<\/p>\n

Okay, it’s not technically news because it doesn’t really add anything to existing rumours of Diablo III being released for console, but it’s more like a reassurance.<\/p>\n

In an interview ahead of the game’s worldwide launch, Blizzard senior designer Leonard Boyarsky<\/a> told CVG that the studio is “continuing to explore the possibilities” of a console version. So there you have it.<\/p>\n

Blizzard<\/a> has refused to come out and confirm anything about it despite posting job ads for console developers, but I’d bet R10 that game is already in development for Xbox<\/a> and PS3<\/a>, and will be out by the end of the year. Just don’t quote me on that unless it actually happens, in which case quote me all you like because it makes me look like I know what I’m doing.<\/p>\n
