The Call of Duty 4 (COD4) Pantheon team has officially disbanded, this after the team had been struggling to find skillful players to fill in the gaps left by two key players earlier this year, namely Greg “Rora” van der Spuy, who left to play for Entropy Gaming, and Stephen “Kaname” Bronner, who could no longer keep up with the busy schedule of playing competitively due to doing honours at university.<\/p>\n
The news comes as somewhat of a non-surprise, with early warning signs being visible when Pantheon COD4 pulled out of the BOTCv4 and iGame tournaments respectively.<\/p>\n
The news is still sad though given that the team was truly competitive. They still managed to finish third in the Do Gaming league behind Entropy Gaming and UbS Saints and it would have been extremely interesting to see how things turned out with all the new teams entering the Premier league.<\/p>\n
The team managed second place at rAge last year and won Vendetta – Victory and Battle of the Clans 2008 as well.<\/p>\n
Numerous sources have confirmed that Andrew “XirZa” Harper will be joining rising favourites BFB Lard, who move up one position in the Do Gaming COD4 Premier League to sit at fifth since Pantheon COD4 is no longer in the league.<\/p>\n
Ivan “Kelynt” Dias, Pantheon COD4 former captain, says he is looking at retiring from competitive gaming for a short time, while keeping his eye open for another team.<\/p>\n
