Mass Effect 3 was said to be getting some new exciting DLC<\/a> for the multiplayer component of the sci-fi RPG\/shooter, but Bioware shot down the rumours.<\/p>\n

Kotaku originally picked up the story from Sony<\/a> Hong Kong’s website, which speculated that the Rebellion multiplayer pack was to add two new maps, three new weapons and equipment items, and six new classes.<\/p>\n

The Firebase Jade’s jungle reservoir and Firebase Goddess on Thessia were to be the new battlegrounds bundled with the DLC, while the new added classes were said to include the Quarian Engineer and Infiltrator, Vorcha Soldier and Sentinel, and the Phoenix Adept and Vanguard.<\/p>\n

However, BioWare<\/a> quickly responded to the DLC rumours. Community manager Chris Priestly said this on the company’s forums<\/a>: “Sorry folks, this is not true. There is no ME3<\/em> MP DLC coming out tomorrow. This is the internet and you cannot ‘unsee’ things, but the details in this are not correct.”<\/p>\n

Priestly’s statement doesn’t necessarily mean that “Rebellion” is fake, but rather that the details were incorrect.<\/p>\n

The DLC will probably be officially announced (and accurately detailed) at some point, but until then, keep holding out for the highly-sought-after expansion which adds an alternate ending.<\/p>\n
