It even had an ominous codename – “project Icebreaker”.

The originally $36 million case has inflated drastically, and the ex-employees are now asking for damages of a billion dollars – that’s nine zeroes for those counting at home.

The trial is going to start on May 29th as newly hired Activision attorney Beth Wilkinson asked for a 30-day extension to familiarize herself with the case. A fair request, since she is fighting to save Activision a tidy billion dollars.

Since leaving Activision West and Zampella set up a new studio cheekily dubbed Respawn Entertainment under EA, and when they’re not doing legal stuff they’re getting a team together and working on a new game.

Source: PCGamer

Related articles

EA pays Activision to settle $400 million court battle

Activision pays $42 million to ex-Infinity Warders, more to come

Activision vs EA, West, Zampella lawsuit moves ahead

Infinity Ward vs. Activision lawsuit escalates

Activision names EA as defendant in Infinity Ward lawsuit

EA responds to Activision lawsuit

EA not impressed with Black Ops II

Black Ops II brings “disruptive innovation” to CoD franchise

[2,3,4
587,23,813,21,1720,1721,1719
post-38093","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","category-pc","category-xbox","tag-activision","tag-call-of-duty","tag-electronic-arts","tag-headline","tag-jason-west","tag-respawn-entertainment","tag-vince-zampella
["GET
