{"id":38483,"date":"2012-05-25T14:56:03","date_gmt":"2012-05-25T12:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=38483"},"modified":"2012-05-25T15:03:13","modified_gmt":"2012-05-25T13:03:13","slug":"did-kickstarter-hide-failed-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/business\/38483-did-kickstarter-hide-failed-projects","title":{"rendered":"Did Kickstarter hide failed projects?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Project-boosting platform, <a title=\"Kickstarter\" href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/forum\/showthread.php\/23526-Kickstarter\">Kickstarter<\/a>, appears to quarantine unsuccessful projects from their website after failure.<\/p>\n<p>Kickstarter is a platform that allows projects to be showcased and exhibited to interested communities, allowing users to contribute and donate in order to get the projects off the ground.<\/p>\n<p>No underachieving Kickstarter projects can be found via search engines, making one wonder why.<\/p>\n<p>Kickstarter is reportedly hiding the failed projects behind a non-searchable wall, where search engines, such as <a title=\"Google\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/314567-Google\">Google<\/a> and <a title=\"Yahoo Inc\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/363118-Yahoo\">Yahoo<\/a>, will not find the pages.<\/p>\n<p>Projects, such as Instaprint, failed and were removed from the site\u2019s search results, making them unavailable to view. You can find the failed Instaprint project here: <a title=\"Instaprint\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/breakfastny\/instaprint-the-location-based-photo-booth-for-inst\" target=\"_blank\">Instaprint on Kickstarter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The site therefore shows over 26,000 projects without one single failure.<\/p>\n<p>The information has understandably upset their community, as Kickstarter are preventing botched projects from being seen by their users.
