Sony Online Entertainment<\/a> has announced a snazzy new gimmick for fantasy MMO Everquest 2, designed to make the game more immersive.<\/p>\n

The game will make use of revolutionary motion tracking software called SOEmote, created by Image Metrics, a UK-based animation company. The software will use your webcam to map your facial movements and reflect them on your in-game character.<\/p>\n

Not only that, if you\u2019re using the integrated voice chat it will also add a filter to your voice, causing you to sound to other players like the character you play.\u00a0 This means that if you play a particularly ugly ogre, you will not only sound like one to your friends, but when you smile, so will he. Creepy stuff.<\/p>\n
