The latest issue of Sony’s downloadable PlayStation video magazine Qore has appeared, and offers subscribers an early look at the PSP Go.<\/p>\n
This is the first time that Sony has officially acknowledged the upcoming portable console.<\/p>\n
The specs have also been confirmed and are as follows:<\/p>\n
– No physical UMD drive, all content will be downloadable<\/p>\n
– 3.8” screen<\/p>\n
– 16GB flash memory<\/p>\n
– 43% lighter than PSP-3000<\/p>\n
– Expandable storage capacity using Memory Stick Micro<\/p>\n
– Bluetooth support<\/p>\n
– Full PSN support, including game and TV\/Movie rental<\/p>\n
Sony has stated that the PSP Go will not replace current PSP hardware, and rather servers to compliment it.<\/p>\n
Sony will continue to sell and launch games in UMD format as well as the new downloadable versions.<\/p>\n
In the meantime Sony will begin moving current UMD games into the Playstation Store for digital distribution.<\/p>\n
Sony is expected to officially announce the PSP Go along with it two launch titles, Gran Turismo and a new Metal Gear Solid title at E3 the week.<\/p>\n
