A lot of speculation has been happening regarding the expected price tag of Nintendo’s new console, and with Reggie Fils-Aime recently saying that the gamers will “pleasantly surprised” by the price, it looks as if the Nintendo of America chief was right.<\/p>\n

Amazon UK have possibly let the cat out of the bag early, by listing a price and release date for the Nintendo Wii U. Firstly, the release date says 14 July 2012, which seems a little too soon and is quite ridiculous, to be blunt.<\/p>\n

What Amazon UK may have credibility with is the price, which pegged at \u00a3199.99, therefore working out at around R2,600 for the console.<\/p>\n

If – and we emphasise if<\/em> – the price is to be believed, then it’s not a bad deal for a console which clearly promises so much with it’s dual-screens, tablet-like WiiU GamePad and 1080p graphics.<\/p>\n

Amazon quickly pulled the price down, but have left the date up. We hope that it wasn’t an undershot and that the Wii U is priced as fairly as the pulled listing promises.<\/p>\n
