How big is the upcoming Dawnguard expansion for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you ask? It’s bigger than anything you’ve ever seen, assuming the only thing you’ve ever seen is the Fallout 3 DLC<\/a>, but that’s pretty big anyway.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019ll take between 10 and 20 hours to beat,\u201d Skyrim lead artist Matt Carofano told Game Front at E3 2012. \u201cIt\u2019s about as long as a faction line.\u201d<\/p>\n

The expansion includes two complete storylines, prominently featuring some of Tamriel’s most elusive inhabitants – vampires – and the people who hunt them. It’s a living. Or a living dead<\/em>, for that matter, ho ho ho.<\/p>\n

There’s also a new location, a plane of Oblivion known as the Soul Cairne, plus additional side quests and Dragon Shouts.<\/p>\n

\u201cDawnguard will be significantly bigger than any Fallout DLC,\u201d Carofano said. \u201cWe wanted to do something more in-depth than that. It\u2019s not as big as Shivering Isles, but there\u2019s still a lot of content there.\u201d<\/p>\n

No launch date has been announced yet, but Dawnguard is scheduled to drop around about now, with a 30-day time exclusivity period on Xbox<\/a>.<\/p>\n
