Last night Brazen beat First Squad Alpha 17-7 to become the DoGaming Premier League Leg 2 champions.<\/p>\n
Brazen now leads Entropy Gaming 2-1 with the most online competition wins this year.<\/p>\n
Entropy Gaming were early leaders and firm favorites to win the season a few weeks ago, but an unexpected draw with UbS AK and the loss against Brazen put Entropy level with Brazen. The final result was therefore decided on point difference.<\/p>\n
Had Entropy Gaming beaten Feisty Females 24-0 on Sunday night, the point difference would have required Brazen to beat First Squad Alpha 17-7, a feat which they managed despite only requiring a win due to Entropy Gaming only beating Feisty Females 19-5.<\/p>\n
“So we wanted to beat them 17 – 7 to show that we had it in us to win outright,” Brazen team Captain Steven White told DoGaming.<\/a><\/p>\n Although Brazen can be proud of their season win, White admits that it was a tough season, with Brazen drawing to DI and losing to UbS Saints.<\/p>\n Brazen managed to beat First Squad Alpha by a significant margin of ten rounds, even though Brazen was missing a key player in Steyn ‘VindicatoR’ Grobler. The team was also handicapped when Sean ‘r0adrunner’ Grobler experienced technical difficulties which resulted in him sitting out for much of the second half of the game, leaving Brazen outnumbered with four players against five.<\/p>\n The match was played on the Crossfire map, and the first 12 rounds were played with Brazen on offence. Brazen managed to outplay First Squad Alpha in the first half ending with a score of 9-3.<\/p>\n The second half saw First Squad Alpha take to the offensive and the team faired marginally better winning 4 rounds against Brazen’s 8.<\/p>\n White expressed excitement regarding the win, and went on to say that the hard work that Brazen has put in has made the team one of the best in SA.<\/p>\n
