Homefront 2 was one of those games that has been talked about for a while now, and although a reveal is imminent, the game was completely absent from this year’s E3 expo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Crytek, who are now currently developing the game, have shed some light on the status of the Red Dawn inspired shooter.<\/p>\n

The studio’s head, Cevat Yerli, has said that despite THQ’s recent financial troubles, there’s been “no tangible change whatsoever” with Crytek’s arrangement with the publisher to develop the sequel.<\/p>\n

The original Homefront was developed by Caos Studios, although THQ shut the doors on the development team last year.<\/p>\n

Yerli has further expressed the unhampered state of the sequel project, by saying: “To be fair, the way we’re developing Homefront 2 is very isolated anyway. We’re treating it as our own new IP and at the same time THQ is respecting us and saying, ‘you guys know what you’re doing’ and telling us the story they’d like to have, which we’re collaborating creatively on.”<\/p>\n

Crytek’s UK branch, formerly Free Radical (Timesplitters), are handling the project, and while details are scarce, it will run on the latest iteration of CryEngine’s technology.<\/p>\n

Yerli also recently came out saying that the Crytek is impressed with the power of the Wii U<\/a> and the console shouldn’t be undermined.<\/p>\n
