In the wake of some very big Nintendo announcements, namely that Namco Bandai is developing Smash Bros. and there\u2019s a whole new freaking handheld coming out, a lot of confused people are wondering why none of this stuff was included in the 4-hour long Nintendo E3 show (which, to be honest, was kind of lacking in excitement).<\/p>\n
IGN asked, and received this response from Nintendo PR:<\/p>\n
“At E3 we had very specific announcements that we wanted to focus on. We had a lot of things to talk about, and we had to decide which things were most appropriate for each method of announcement. E3 is just one of the many opportunities for companies to make announcements, and we\u2019re always looking for the most appropriate ways to both inform and surprise consumers.”<\/p>\n
It\u2019s clear that Nintendo was trying to drop a bomb in the calm after the E3 storm, but their plan may very well have backfired, considering how a lot of the industry now remembers Nintendo\u2019s E3 showing as being lacklustre.<\/p>\n
Now the question becomes \u2013 what else did they leave out of E3?<\/p>\n
