While some gamers know<\/em> and talk about a lot of the following games, the reality is that a lot of people didn’t actually play them. These games scored generally highly across the board, although the sales never corresponded with their positive reception. Even big name games, like that of the Resistance franchise, were sadly overlooked due to disenchanted fans or basically what ever else was hitting store shelves at that point in time.<\/p>\n

Here are some of the best games you probably didn’t play.<\/p>\n

Split Second<\/h3>\n

The closest way to describe Split\/Second would be like driving through a Michael Bay set as it goes up in flames. Like an awesome B-Grade action flick, Split\/Second may not provide emotional depth to call home about, but it offers action and intensity that not many other games can touch. Stunning visuals, solid gameplay, and Powerplays are the defining ingredients in Split\/Second, and the result is one of the most exhilarating racers you\u2019ll ever play.<\/p>\n

Dark Sector<\/h3>\n

After a CIA agent is infected with a virus, a metallic growth slowly engulfs his arm, and a new boomerang-like glaive emerges at his disposal. Players must take on the role of Hayden and master his continual changing form and abilities, to further his mission and delve deeper into the mystery of these mutations.<\/p>\n

While staying true to mechanics of games such as Resident Evil 4 and Gears of War, elements such as the glaive add to a new gameplay experience which fans of the genre should definitely check out.<\/p>\n

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West<\/h3>\n

Enslaved was defiantly released at the wrong time, as an onslaught of games were hitting store shelves around the fourth quarter of the year, overshadowing one of the best and underplayed games in 2010. Ninja Theory\u2019s epic platforming adventure threw players into the role of Monkey as he had to protect a heroine named Trip, for her death would result in his.<\/p>\n

Enslaved delivered solid gameplay, great visuals, and possibly the best told story of the year. A shame it didn\u2019t get more attention.<\/p>\n

God of War: Ghost of Sparta<\/h3>\n

While originally appearing on Sony\u2019s PSP handheld, God of War: Ghost of Sparta is by no means a “small” experience. The prequel entry ups-the-ante in terms of scale, to the point where you\u2019re in disbelief this is actually a PSP game.<\/p>\n

Players get a closer look into Kratos\u2019 relationship with his brother Deimos, although there\u2019s still plenty of gargantuan enemies, and heads to rip off, in what must be one of the strongest games of the entire series. You can now play Ghost of Sparta on the God of War Collection Volume 2 for PS3, so what’s your excuse now?<\/p>\n

Resistance 3<\/h3>\n

Resistance 3 manages to exceed all the expectations put forward by it’s predecessors by delivering a heart-stopping campaign, complete with a touching story which sums up the sombre mood of the game.<\/p>\n

This is the best the series has to offer and if you\u2019re slightly interested, pick it up because the fight against the Chimera is one worth joining the resistance for.<\/p>\n
