Beamdog’s Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition doesn’t have a release date yet, but you’d better bet your bum it does<\/em> have a launch plan for premium DLC. It just wouldn’t be an Enhanced Edition without it, now would it? Exactly.<\/p>\n

The news comes via game director Trent Oster, who confirmed on Twitter that there would be new content launched subsequent to whenever the game is out. He did, however, assure players that the DLC would be good stuff.<\/p>\n

“DLC=Downloadable Content, not furry earrings +3,” he said. “The big guys have overcooked the term with badness. New BG storylines, New characters.”<\/p>\n

The developer has previously announced that the Enhanced Edition will also feature a level cap increase from the original, so that they can add tougher quests.<\/p>\n

The game is due to drop sometime around about now for PC, Mac, and tablets, although a console release has been ruled out because the controller “isn’t a good fit”. Isn’t a good fit for what? I once got most of an Xbox controller in my mouth.<\/p>\n
