Billions* of fans have been calling for a Final Fantasy VII remake ever since that pesky PS3 tech demo was shown at E3 all those years ago – and finally (geddit?) Square Enix has heard your cries.<\/p>\n

Except, of course, they’re all tone deaf, it seems.<\/p>\n

“Coming soon” to PC, Square Enix will be relaunching Final Fantasy VII – not remade, simply “optimised to support modern hardware and with a host of new online features,” according to their official Twitter tweet.<\/p>\n

What new features, I hear you ask?<\/p>\n

Well for one, there will be achievements – so you can finally prove to everyone that you defeated Emerald Weapon instead of being called a big dirty liar.<\/p>\n

On top of that, you will also be able to change stats and money levels at the click of a button with the Character Booster – and if you have an Internet connection, you will have access to Cloud Saves (CLOUD saves, oh Square Enix, you funny bunch).<\/p>\n

Currently, that is all the information that is available – and it remains to be seen if there will be any cosmetic changes or not. However, it’s safe to assume that Aerith<\/span> still dies.<\/p>\n

The game will be available exclusively through Square Enix’s online store. No release date was given.<\/p>\n
