<\/p>\nGenerally speaking the games bundled with PS3 consoles are usually not particularly exciting. Often the console is packed with a Blu-Ray movie like Spider Man 3 or 300, and maybe a copy of Motorstorm or Resistance 2.<\/p>\n
While the bundled games\/movies are a nice touch, they rarely offer a huge incentive to purchase the console.<\/p>\n
This is all about to change as reports are rolling in that Sony is bundling two of the most desired PS3 exclusives released to date, Killzone 2 and Metal Gear Solid 4 with its latest shipment of PS3 80GB consoles.<\/p>\n

The images confirm that these two titles are in fact being bundled with the 80GB PS3 which will sell for the regular $400 (R3 200) retail price. We should expect the bundle to sell at around the usual R4 800 mark when it comes to SA.<\/p>\n
Local PS3 distributor Ster Kinekor could not be reached for comment at the time of publication.<\/p>\n
Many analysts and onlookers have expressed the view that if Sony wants to increase it console sales then it needs to bring down the console\u2019s retail price to around the $300 (R2 400) mark. Sony\u2019s trademark response has always been that the console is worth the higher price and is backed up by a great selection of quality titles.<\/p>\n
By bundling two of the machine\u2019s most high profile games with the 80GB console, Sony is following up on its marketing pitch. Most would agree that an 80GB PS3 bundled with MSG4 and KZ2 for a price of $400 (R3 200) is excellent value. Unfortunately with import duties and additional distribution fees South Africans can expect to keep paying closer to R5 000 for the 80 GB console.<\/p>\n
