Paul McCartney, as in The freakin\u2019 Beatles Paul McCartney, is writing music for Bungie, former developer of the Halo franchise.<\/p>\n
The confirmation comes via a tweet from the man himself, “I’m really excited to be working on writing music with @bungie, the studio that made Halo.”<\/p>\n
This tweet is in line with reports from early this year that McCartney said he was working on music for a video game; saying also that he was excited by the project and found the video game market fascinating. He also added that writing music for a video game may mark the first time his music will be heard by the next generation.<\/p>\n
Bungie\u2019s contract with Activision made its way into the spotlight during the highly publicized trial between the publisher and ex-employees Vince Zampella and Jason West.<\/p>\n
According to the contract, Bungie\u2019s next game, codenamed Destiny, will launch in late 2013 on Xbox 360 as well as nextbox.<\/p>\n
This will be one of four in a series of \u201csci-fantasy, action shooter games\u201d, to be released every other year from 2013 to 2019. Bungie also promises four DLC expansions, codenamed comet, to be released every other year from 2014 to 2020.<\/p>\n
Sounds like Paul has his work cut out for him.<\/p>\n
