BioWare and EA are getting ready to release a free multiplayer DLC pack for Mass Effect 3, titled as the Earth Multiplayer Expansion. The confirmation comes via Major Nelson (Xbox LIVE community manager Larry Hyrb) who updated his blog with details of content coming soon to Xbox LIVE Marketplace.<\/p>\n
Xbox 360 gamers can expect to receive the DLC for free on 17 July, but since nothing official has come from EA, it is not certain when PS3 and PC gamers will have access to the DLC.<\/p>\n
An industrious netizen going by the name of “gibbed” over on the Something Awful forum has been scrounging around in Mass effect 3 game files and dug up the following information (as neatly compiled by Kaizer88 over on the BioWare forum):<\/p>\n
Adept – N7 Fury: Throw, Annihilation Field, Dark Channel.<\/p>\n
Soldier – N7 Destroyer: Multi-Frag Grenade, Missile Launcher, Devastator Mode, T5-V battlesuit.<\/p>\n
Engineer – N7 Demolisher: Homing Grenade, Arc Grenade, Supply Pylon.<\/p>\n
Sentinel – N7 Paladin: Snap Freeze, Incinerate, Energy Drain.<\/p>\n
Infiltrator – N7 Shadow: Tactical Cloak, Shadow Strike, Electric Slash.<\/p>\n
Vanguard – N7 Slayer: Phase Disruptor, Biotic Charge, Biotic Slash.<\/p>\n
Fury: “Fury operatives use implants to fuel biotics and their incredible movement speed. These operatives wind an unpredictable path on the battlefield, moving in and out of combat before returning to unleash a sweeping biotic attack on their unsuspecting targets.”<\/p>\n
Destroyer: “The Destroyer’s T5-V Battlesuit gives these strong-but-slow soldiers mech-like protection. Driven by eezo-assisted actuators, these frontline troopers carry heavy weapons onto the battlefield.”<\/p>\n
Demolisher: “The Demolisher uses grenades to attack at range and to terrorize the battlefield. Demolishers can also create a supply pylon that stocks allies with an unending reserve of grenades and thermal reloads.”<\/p>\n
Paladin: “The Paladin carries a powerful omni-shield onto the battlefield to block enemy fire. The Paladin also uses the shield as a heavy-melee weapon that, when modified with incindiery or cryo upgrades, creates a devastating combination attack.”<\/p>\n
Shadow: “Shadow infiltrators use implants to dramatically improve agility, making them slippery combatants on the battlefield. Their monomolecular blades are a menace from cover and close range.”<\/p>\n
Slayer: “Slayers use implants to dramatically improve mobility. Their dizzying sword attacks can hit multiple opponents, and the Slayer’s ability to slip fire makes them hard to pin down on the battielfield.”<\/p>\n
New weapons include the Typhoon light machine gun, Piranha assault shotgun, and Acolyte pistol.<\/p>\n
Previous rumour had it that there will be new maps for Rio, Vancouver, and London.<\/p>\n
