There\u2019s been a lot of back and forth speculation on the upcoming Wii U. While many industry names have been back and forth about how the control feels and whether or not it\u2019s confusing to use, what people are really interested in is the power.<\/p>\n
Developers such as CEO of Crytek Cevat Yerli and Gearbox co-founder Brian Martel have said they believe the Wii U is more powerful than the current generation Microsoft and Sony hardware, while other rumours have abounded from anonymous sources that the hardware just doesn\u2019t deliver what many were hoping for. These anonymous sources have even gone so far as to say the graphics of the Wii U aren\u2019t as powerful as that of the Xbox 360 and PS3.<\/p>\n
However, 5th Cell (developer of Scribblenauts) CEO Jeremiah Slaczka hopes to put the matter to rest once and for all, saying, “[Wii U is] definitely more powerful than Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.”<\/p>\n
“It’s kind of frustrating to see the rumors and speculation of people going back and forth saying it’s weaker or more powerful. It’s definitely more powerful.”<\/p>\n
“I think we were one of the first developers to see the Wii U,” Slaczka continued. “Nintendo came to our studio and demoed it to us. A couple of weeks later Warner Bros. got to see it, and we said we should do this. This game was originally a Wii title but later moved to Wii U. It’s been about two years in development.”<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a bit worrying that people are alleging Nintendo\u2019s brand-new hardware can\u2019t compete with the now very old tech found in the Xbox 360 and PS3, but it\u2019s best to reserve judgment till we can play the Wii U\u2019s games for ourselves.<\/p>\n
