With developer High Moon Studios recently revealing that they, alongside Marvel, are working on a video game adaptation for the Deadpool<\/a> comic series, the quick-talking merc himself has come out in typical fourth-wall breaking fashion to deliver his very own press release.<\/p>\n

Hey suits, listen up \u2018cause I\u2019ve got some pretty sweet news to break. I, DEADPOOL, today announced that I\u2019ve\u2026 (ahem\u2026we\u2019ve) \u2026yes, right\u2026WE\u2019VE decided to make a kick-butt, butt-kicking new video game based on the awesome-ing-ist Super Hero ever known to man \u2026(and woman, if you know what we\u2019re sayin\u2019) \u2013 starring yours truly, ME \u2013 DEADPOOL. I know, I know\u2026I pee\u2019d myself a little with excitement just now too (you call that \u2018a little?\u2019).<\/p>\n

Some of you may know me as the Merc with a Mouth, (or the mercenary for hire) \u2013 what can I say; I have skills! (You know who else has skills?) High Moon Studios has skills, and I hired them to make my game, because they\u2019re awesome, and so am I. But they\u2019re not as awesome as I am, if that\u2019s what you\u2019ve heard. (Who\u2019d you hear that from?) (Wait, listen\u2026you smell something?)<\/p>\n

Anywho, where was I? Oh yeah, ME, and my game DEADPOOL! With some cashola I \u2018borrowed\u2019 (ha!!! riiight\u2026\u2018borrowed\u2019) from Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) (blah blah blah), and some of the big cheeses (mmmmm\u2026cheeeeese) from Marvel Entertainment, my DEADPOOL game will feature all of my favorite things \u2013 katanas (check), big guns (and not just these amazing arm muscles) (check), crazy poop-your-pants action (check), hot chicks (check), maybe some of my X-MEN\u2122 friends (well, depending on what they\u2019re wearing), burritos, bouncy houses and of course ME!!! (check)(check) And check!<\/p>\n

And now, a quote from me about my game:
\n“I, DEADPOOL, \u2018hired\u2019 Peter Della Penna and his physically embarrassing team at High Moon Studios for two reasons. First, because of their close proximity to Mexico so I can get fresh, authentic chimichangas delivered daily,\u201d said DEADPOOL, newly self-appointed Head of High Moon Studios, and Supreme Commander of PR, Marketing, Legal, and just about everything I want to be in charge of at Activision Publishing, Inc. \u201cSecond, if High Moon can make an amazing game about big transforming robots look cool, then they can surely make me look amazing in a third-person action video game, from all angles (seriously Peter\u2026my bottom is my good side, so don\u2019t screw this up).\u201d<\/p>\n

And now, a quote from that other guy at High Moon Studios:
\n\u201cWe weren\u2019t actually planning on making a DEADPOOL game,\u201d said Peter Della Penna, formerly Head of High Moon Studios and now second in command. \u201cBut,
\nDEADPOOL came by the studio one day, said he was taking over, and that if I didn\u2019t h ir e Marve l writer Daniel Way p ronto and m ak e the most amazing DEADPOOL video game, he\u2019d break both of our arms and beat us to death with them. I have kids, so we\u2019re making the game.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tongue-in-cheek anti-hero has made a number of cameos in other games, but it\u2019s now his time to step into the limelight with his over-the-top violence and snappy one-liners.<\/p>\n

Besides the fact that Nolan North (Uncharted, Spec Ops: The Line) will voice Deadpool \u2013 as he did in a number of animated iterations \u2013 not too much else is known about the game.<\/p>\n

The teaser trailer was released, and features lots of gore, jokes and Deadpool making his own sound effects.<\/p>\n

The game is slated for release in 2013, although no specific dates have been revealed.<\/p>\n
