So you can get a ticket to the Battlefield 4 beta by buying a copy of Medal of Honor: Warfighter on Origin – we knew that already – but that’s not the only<\/em> way to get one, DICE has confirmed. That’s even though the Origin ad says it’s “exclusive”. Maybe they mean an exclusive version of the beta with its own special loading screen or something like that.<\/p>\n

“There will be other ways to get into the beta aside from Medal of Honor: Warfighter,” Battlefield community manager Ian Tornay explained over on Reddit<\/a>. “At this time, however, it is the only way to guarantee entry.”<\/p>\n

As for concerns that the game is already in development with Battlefield 3 barely out the door, Tornay pointed out that’s just how things are done over at DICE HQ, and that the company isn’t dumping Battlefield 3 any time soon anyway.<\/p>\n

“We’ve been seeing a lot of concerns about the pacing of release (i.e. “only” two years after BF3). I think it’s worth noting that DICE has released a Battlefield game every two years or sooner AND Mirror’s Edge at least every two years,” he said.<\/p>\n

“There are several teams at DICE. Starting work on Battlefield 4 does not mean that we will be abandoning Battlefield 3 or working any less hard to bring you the best expansions we can.”<\/p>\n

“DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3. Just as we’ve continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4.”<\/p>\n

There’s no launch date yet, but the beta is expected to go live next year.<\/p>\n
