While the world anticipates Windows 8, game developers don\u2019t seem too excited about it. In a recent interview Valve president Gabe Newell called Windows 8 \u201ckind of a catastrophe for everybody in the PC space.\u201d<\/p>\n

People have started to predict Windows 8 to be \u201cthe next Vista\u201d, saying that it\u2019s neither consumer nor developer friendly. Blizzard has now chimed in as well, with Rob Pardo, executive vice president of game design, backing Gabe\u2019s sentiments via Twitter.<\/p>\n

Pardo commented on Newell’s interview, saying that Windows 8 is \u201cnot awesome for Blizzard either\u201d.<\/p>\n

The reason these developers are concerned is the worry that Microsoft will be making Windows 8 a closed system. While Microsoft haven\u2019t yet fully detailed the workings of their newest OS, it\u2019s been said that Microsoft will be taking more control over applications and purchases made through Windows 8, which has people like Newell and Pardo worried.<\/p>\n

Windows 8 will launch on October 26th<\/sup> this year.<\/p>\n
