Information on the multiplayer component of Raven’s upcoming Wolfenstein has been released.<\/p>\n

Raven itself is not working on the multiplayer component, and has contracted Endrant Studios to do the job.<\/p>\n

Endrant’s Mat Wilson has spoken to GameSpot <\/a>where he detailed the multiplayer component.<\/p>\n

“Players can enter the veil dimension and use veil powers much like the ones BJ has access to, as well as all the standard weapons and items,” said Wilson<\/p>\n

In the single player game players will be able to slow time using one of the veil powers. This particular power will not be included in multiplayer for fairly obvious reasons.<\/p>\n

“In multiplayer, you’re not BJ–you’re a member of either the Resistance or the Axis, and you play as one of three roles: soldier, medic or engineer,” said Wilson, going on to elaborate “We wanted to keep the three roles distinct, so we gave them their own unique veil powers that are specific to their responsibilities within the team.”<\/p>\n

Endrant Studios has also confirmed that there will be eight multiplayer maps and they will be playable in three different modes.<\/p>\n

The multiplayer component will also feature a variety of unlockable weapons and upgrades.<\/p>\n

“The unlocks for each give you options on what to upgrade and when, but you can only have one unlock per category (weapon, item, veil power, etc.) active at once,” explained Wilson. “Some of the choices you’ll have to make are things like power versus accuracy, reload time versus recoil\/muzzle kick.” Said Wilson.<\/p>\n

Wolfenstein is anticipated for local release towards the end of August and will be available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. <\/p>\n
