While the World of Warcraft movie may be struggling to get off the ground in the face of some major setbacks, Activision head Bobby Kotick is still committed to seeing it through.<\/p>\n
Last month Sam Raimi confirmed that he was stepping down as director for the movie, choosing instead to work on Oz: The Great and Powerful.<\/p>\n
In an interview with Variety, Kotick said that the World of Warcraft movie is “important to Blizzard, it’s important to me.”<\/p>\n
Charles Leavitt, the man who wrote the script for Blood Diamond, has been brought in and written a new World of Warcraft screenplay. It\u2019s said that production company Legendary is a fan of Leavitt\u2019s story, and may be willing to fund the project.<\/p>\n
Blizzard is apparently \u201cvery excited about having a World of Warcraft film,\u201d according to Kotick, who said they\u2019ve been \u201cvery careful and thoughtful about the development process.”<\/p>\n
