<\/strong>Sleeping Dogs has been through hell and back. Originally starting out as an entry in the True Crime franchise, Activision lost faith in their action-infused IP.<\/p>\n

Thankfully, Square-Enix saw the potential within the concept and backed United Front Games to produce the goods.<\/p>\n

Sleeping Dogs has already impressed us in our hands-on preview, and with the game merely weeks away, there\u2019s a few things we can\u2019t wait to do in Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

Kung-fu authenticity<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Sleeping Dogs prides itself on its hand-to-hand combat and Kung Fu-inspired heritage, and Square-Enix are promising to deliver that thanks to the free-flow combat system.<\/p>\n

Rocksteady Studios (the team behind Batman: Arkham City and Batman: Arkham Asylum) consulted United Front with their fighting system to ensure that it has the right pedigree behind it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Flying Cars<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Cars will be flying in Sleeping Dogs; not because it\u2019s set in the future, but because Wei will be involved in a lot of vehicular chaos, resulting in flaming, flipping and exploding cars.<\/p>\n

Illegal street races will also be standard-fare in Wei-Shen\u2019s climb to the top of the Triad hierarchy.<\/p>\n

Catch me if you can<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There\u2019s something so simple yet so intense about chasing down an escaping perpetrator.<\/p>\n

Sleepings Dogs will feature a bunch of on-foot chase sequences, requiring Wei-shen to acrobatically make his way through busy markets, rooftops and streets to close in on his enemy and take them down.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Action movies \u2013 eat your heart out<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The inspiration for Sleeping Dogs comes from a lot of Hong Kong cinema and Hollywood action movies.<\/p>\n

Jumping from the roofs of cars, slow motion gunplay and over-the-top kills are all part of a day out for undercover detective Wei-shen.<\/p>\n

Respecting honour<\/strong><\/h3>\n

While Sleeping Dogs is an action romp of note, it doesn\u2019t let the story elements take a back seat.<\/p>\n

With a strong cast, including Emma Stone, Lucy Liu, Tom Wilkinson, Kelly Hu, and Lindsay Price (to name a few), expect a deep and winding story that\u2019ll have some twists in Wei\u2019s Triad infiltration attempt.<\/p>\n

We can\u2019t wait for Sleeping Dogs, which is set for release on 17 August, 2012, for Xbox 360<\/a>, PS3<\/a> and PC<\/a>.<\/p>\n
