That is if statements made by Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith to MTV <a href=\"http:\/\/multiplayerblog.mtv.com\/2009\/08\/07\/infinity-ward-more-than-two-call-of-duty-modern-warfare-2-map-packs-possible\/\" target=\"_blank\">Multiplayer<\/a> are to be taken verbatim.<\/p>\n<p>Griffith told MTV that &#8220;We plan to launch two separate map packs for this title. Map packs help extend the shelf life of the franchise, as evidence by the strong catalogue sales and premium pricing that we maintained a year and a half after launch.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Although this would be twice the amount of DLC map packs that the original Modern Warfare received the announcement might annoy some gamers, owing to the fact that in the last year the fan expectation for DLC updates has arguably increased.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the sentiments, Infinity Ward&rsquo;s Community Manager Robert Bowling has told MTV that the company isn&rsquo;t ruling out the possibility of more than two updates. It seems that both Activision and Infinity Ward will be relying heavily on community feedback to decide whether more DLCs are indeed necessary.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As far as DLC goes, we love it and plan to support &#8216;Modern Warfare 2&#8217; heavily with post-launch support. We&rsquo;ve confirmed we&rsquo;ll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for Xbox 360. The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn&rsquo;t mean there won&rsquo;t be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs.
