Activision has been pretty tight-lipped about their PS Vita release, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified, since its announcement. However, in an interview with MCV, Activision have revealed that a lot more details will be announced at Gamescom next week.<\/p>\n
You can really expect us to deliver a true Call of Duty experience,” said Michael Sportouch, Activision’s European VP and GM of the Santa Monica business unit.<\/p>\n
“We are really excited about the opportunities that the Vita could offer us in terms of connecting with a new audience.”<\/p>\n
The only real details of the game we\u2019ve had so far come from a Walmart listing back in June, which read, “Before the future could be won, history had to be written,” it read. “Exposing that story exclusively on PlayStation Vita, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified explores original fiction in the Call of Duty Black Ops universe with an all-new campaign of Special Ops missions.<\/p>\n
“Optimized for gamers on-the-go, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified delivers the most intense handheld Call of Duty experience to date, including both Special Ops Story mode and Multiplayer combat tailored for the PS Vita.”<\/p>\n
Of course none of this was officially confirmed by Activision, and Walmart was told to sit in the corner and think about what they\u2019d done.<\/p>\n
With Vita sales still struggling, a big title like this could be what Sony need to turn things around for their core gaming handheld. FPS titles on handheld are notoriously iffy, so it\u2019ll be intriguing to see what Activision has come up with.<\/p>\n
