Sony<\/a> and Naughty Dog<\/a> have released a trailer for the Last of Us to celebrate Gamescom 2012. The visual gameplay montage is set to the song “Alone and Forsaken” by Hank Williams, Sr.<\/p>\n

The Last of Us takes players on a journey through a world ravaged by a viral outbreak which wiped out most of humanity,and by all accounts, it’s shaping up to be quite a harrowing, visceral survival-horror experience.<\/p>\n

The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who’s braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Last of Us is set to release sometime in early 2013, exclusively on the PS3.<\/p>\n
