Conquer Generals 2 going free-to-play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EA have announced that the upcoming Command &amp; Conquer Generals 2 is being shifted into a free-to-play experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are thrilled about this opportunity to transform Command &amp; Conquer into a premier online experience,&#8221; said Jon Van Caneghem, VP\/GM at EA.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For nearly two decades, this franchise has existed as something you buy; now we are creating a destination where our fans will be able to access the entire Command &amp; Conquer universe, starting with Generals and continuing with Red Alert, Tiberium and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The long-awaited sequel will be focused on an online experience and run on DICE\u2019s Frostbite 2 engine, providing destructibility and sharp visuals to the tactical RTS.<\/p>\n<p>Command &amp; Conquer: Generals 2 is being developed exclusively by Bioware Victory for PC, and is expected to be released sometime in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Sign up for the closed beta at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commandandconquer.com\/free\/\" target=\"_blank\">official Command &amp;
