Battlefield 3 fans hoping to one day see that dinosaur mode will have to hope it comes from DICE, because it’s probably not ever coming from anybody else – the developer isn’t planning to release mod tools for the game.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the recent Game Developers Conference in Europe, DICE boss Magnus Troedsson explained that there’s just too much risk involved in making even some of the game’s code accessible to users.<\/p>\n
Although he acknowledged that modding is a big thing in the PC gaming community, he explained that, basically, “we’re afraid of all the things that can come with releasing the code.”<\/p>\n
