It looks like Fortnite may be getting a closed beta sometime early next year. The news comes via Joystiq, who witnessed developer Epic give someone a \u201cgolden ticket\u201d at a Fortnite PAX panel. The ticket will grant them early access to a closed beta \u2013 a beta which until this point hadn\u2019t even been announced.<\/p>\n
Upon some follow-up questioning, the game\u2019s producer Tanya Jessing did confirm after the panel concluded that “there will definitely be a closed beta,” but remained tight-lipped about the possibility of an open beta to follow for those who don\u2019t hold one of the lucky tickets.<\/p>\n
Epic design director Cliff Bleszinski wasn\u2019t forthcoming with any further information, saying that the subject was still \u201cto be decided\u201d.<\/p>\n
Fortnite was revealed to the world as a sandbox co-operative survival game last month at Comic Con, a multiplayer title which will have players building bases and scavenging for resources. It’ll also be Epic’s first game to use the Unreal 4 engine.<\/p>\n
