The International, a worldwide\u00a0Dota 2\u00a0<\/em>tournament sponsored by developer Valve, took place this weekend, with the prestigious tournament finally producing a winner.<\/p>\n

Chinese team iG beat defending champions Na\u2019Vi to win the final, crowning iG the winners of the Dota 2 International 2012.<\/p>\n

iG claimed a grand prize of $1,000,000 (R8,4 million) after winning out 3-1 against the tough Ukranian competition of Na\u2019Vi.<\/p>\n

As runners-up, Na\u2019Vi grabbed a pretty decent second prize of $250,000 (R2,1 million).<\/p>\n

Third place went to another Chinese team, LGD, who got $150,000 (R1,26 million).<\/p>\n

The championship trophy was presented by none-other than Valve\u2019s Gabe Newell.<\/p>\n

Na\u2019Vi had actually beaten iG on Day 2 of the tournament, although the Ukranian-based team couldn\u2019t find their momentum again in the finals.<\/p>\n

Congratulations go out to Chen Yao (Zhou), Luo Feichi (Ferrari 430), Jian Cen (YYF), Wong Hock Chuan (ChuaN) and Zeng Hongda (Faith) of iG.<\/p>\n
