Organised Chaos (OC), South Africa’s largest monthly multiplayer gaming event, today announced that it has broken its annual attendance record.<\/p>\n
So far 2009 has seen 4554 gamers attend the monthly events, the majority of which have been held at the Bellville Velodrome in Cape Town. This number already indicates an increase of 259 players when compared to 2008’s total. With four more months remaining this year OC believes that it will add to this number by a significant amount.<\/p>\n
The organisation estimates that it will be able to beat last year’s total by an estimated 4800 seats.<\/p>\n
In order to cope with the increased player load OC recently invested R250 000 into networking and power equipment which has enabled events of up to 1040 players to be organised and structured more easily.<\/p>\n
OC will be hosting its first event in Johannesburg from the 27th to the 29th of November at the MTN Expo centre in NASREC.<\/p>\n
The next scheduled OC event is scheduled from the 18th to the 20th of September at the Bellville Velodrome and will offer up to 840 seats. OC has announced that there will be a Team Fortress 2 tournament, social play and prizes sponsored by MSI available.<\/p>\n
Unlike similar tournaments such as the rAge event which is held annually in October by Tide Media, Organised Chaos organises events on a monthly basis which arguably provides for a more community based atmosphere than intermittent or irregular LANs.<\/p>\n
