The Vishera chips are expected to be released by the end of 2012.

Vishera CPUs will feature up to 8-cores, Turbo Core 3.0 technology, and will use the existing AM3+ socket.

This provides a neat upgrade path for gamers currently on AM3+ platforms that were holding off on first-generation Bulldozer chips.

Vishera will also make use of the existing dual-channel DDR3 memory interface, another upgrade-path feather in its cap.

Piledriver also boasts improved power efficiency and reduced heat output.

A feature guide was leaked via Chinese tech website, Expreview, which Tom’s Hardware later confirmed.

At launch, Vishera will be available in 8-, 6-, and 4-core versions, at stock speeds of 4.00GHz (4.20GHz TurboCore speed), 3.50GHz (4.10GHz TurboCore speed), and 4.00GHz clock speed (4.20GHz TurboCore speed), respectively.

AMD Vishera specsheet

Are you interested in upgrading to the second generation of AMD’s Bulldozer CPU range?
