In news that comes via some alternate reality where Duke Nukem Forever wasn’t a terrible, terrible game, Gearbox Software boss Randy Pitchford is apparently dead set on making another one.<\/p>\n
After more than a decade in development, Duke Nukem Forever finally launched in 2010, only to become an instant bomb with a Metacritic score of just 49 and sales numbers less than half its expected target. Fail to the king, maybe, but not to daddy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI willingly and lovingly acquired the brand. When I did that, I wasn\u2019t thinking that the only goal is just to make sure everyone could play Duke Nukem Forever. The real goal for me is I\u2019d like to build a Duke Nukem game again,\u201d Pitchford told IGN.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think what I would do and what Gearbox would do would be a little different [to Duke Nukem Forever]. I think it would be amazing, and I look forward to that.\u201d<\/p>\n
We can only hope it’s another ten years or more until that happens.<\/p>\n
