Popular local gaming retailer, BTGames, has announced that it will be holding a competition which will supposedly identify South Africa’s best PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii gamers.<\/p>\n
The competition will feature a total of 9 different games, all of which will be kept secret until the competition starts. MyGaming has no idea what games will be played, although our guesses include Gears of War 2, Call of Duty 4, Guitar Hero 4, Fifa 09, Fight Night Round 4, Need for Speed: Shift, Dirt 2, Wii Sports Resort and Street Fighter IV.<\/p>\n
The competition will kick off at the opening of a brand new BTGames store at Eastgate shopping center which takes place on September 26 and will run through until October 10.<\/p>\n
The overall winner of the competition will take home a Playstation 3 as well as a R5000 BTGames voucher. Second place will get a R3000 BTGames voucher and third place will get a R2000 BTGames voucher.<\/p>\n
Competition Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n The Competition will be broken into 3 tiers.<\/p>\n Tier 1<\/strong> (September 26 – October 8 )<\/p>\n All competitors are welcome in this stage of the competition.<\/p>\n During this period competitors may play as many times as they choose to try and get their score into the top 6. Winners of this round will be decided upon via a points system.<\/p>\n The top 6 scorers across the platforms will then progress onto Tier 2. Tier 2 <\/strong>(October 10)<\/p>\n Only the 6 chosen entrants from Tier 1 will be allowed to compete in this round. Once again all 3 platforms will be played in this Tier.<\/p>\n The top 3 competitors will then progress through to Tier 3.<\/p>\n Tier 3<\/strong> (October 10)<\/p>\n Only the 3 chosen entrants from Tier 2 will compete in this round.<\/p>\n Elimination process of Tier 3 to be confirmed.<\/p>\n Times<\/strong><\/p>\n On BT games Eastgate Launch date, September 26th, competitors are welcome from 9am – 5pm. No bookings need be made for this day. Thereafter, until October 8th, competition hours will be Mondays to Saturdays from 2pm – 5pm.<\/p>\n Due to time constraints “walks-ins” may not be able to participate on these days, so make sure you have booked your space beforehand.<\/p>\n Finalists will be contacted with start times for Tier 2 and Tier 3 once they have qualified for these rounds.
