Revolution Software has announced that a Beneath a Steel Sky sequel is officially a thing that’s actually going to happen<\/strong>. You know it’s important because it’s in bold text, but in case you missed it the first time around, let’s see that again in happy kitty format:<\/p>\n

Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is officially a thing that’s actually happening!<\/p><\/div>\n

Earlier this month, the developer added Beneath a Steel Sky 2 as an incentive for their Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse Kickstarter campaign<\/a>, promising to make the game if the fund drive hit US$1 million. Although the final cash heap was some $200,000 short of that, they’re going ahead and doing it anyway, just because.<\/p>\n

“We’re delighted by the recent level of interest in a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky and are currently discussing design ideas for this project which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword – The Serpent’s Curse,” Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner told Develop.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re deeply touched that our Steel Sky fans are as enthusiastic today as they were when the original game released in 1994.”<\/p>\n

The sequel is apparently tentatively scheduled for iOS, Android, PC, Linux, and Mac, with console versions also a possibility.<\/p>\n

Broken Sword is expected to ship in April 2013, which means it’s just six or seven months until Beneath a Steel Sky 2 is really, really<\/em> real.<\/p>\n
