Mweb is experiencing a partial loss of international capacity due to a cable break near Marseilles which is affecting the Seacom cable system, the internet service provider (ISP) announced today (26 September).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are currently operating on backup capacity, so you may be experiencing some slowness on international sites and downloads,\u201d Mweb said in its statement.<\/p>\n

The ISP said that lower priority traffic such as peer-to-peer downloads will be the most affected.<\/p>\n

Mweb said that it would provide an update as soon as they have an estimated time for the repair.<\/p>\n

Traffic graphs from another major service provider suggests that their international capacity via Seacom went offline just before 14:00 and started coming back online from 15:35.<\/p>\n
